The Evolution Of Plasma Cutters

The new machines can even cut a 45 degree bevel to add depth to any project. With further refinements, now non-conducting materials can be cut with plasma cutters. The surging plasma, on the other hand, slices through the metal.
With plasma cutters you can upload a picture into CNC computer and have the plasma cause it to blow right through the metal.

Up until just a few years ago only materials that can conduct electricity were cut by plasma cutters; for example, silver, gold and copper or non-metallic conductors such as salts and graphite. Plasma welding, the predecessor of plasma cutting, was first invented in World War II in response to the cut is not affected by the cutting is still done on metal.

  1. Thanks for posting this! I found your explanation of the plasma cutters to be surprisingly interesting. Definitely better than listening to my father talk about wash water recycling! Thank you again.
